Introduction
The inaugural Fidalgo Bay Trestle Row is August 24, 2024 at Seafarers' Memorial Park in Anacortes. The race starts at 10 AM. The 4-mile Level 2 race on South Fidalgo Bay is for Classics, SUPs, OW Singles, OW Doubles and OW Quads. Not racing? Come early and watch the racers get ready and head out. Park in the ESD lot. Race Course: South to Fidalgo Bay RV Park and back. (See Course tab.)
Race registration: Advance registration only at oarss.org/trestle-row. Deadline August 22. Each class limited to 10 boats.
Entry Fee: $20 per person. Cash or credit card. Payment on Race Day. Desk opens at 0830.
Directions: I-5 to Mount Vernon. Take SR 20 West to Anacortes. Take SR 20 Spur to Anacortes. Exit R Avenue North. Turn right onto Seafarers’ Way. Turn right at stop sign, turn left onto ESD Drive (just before Thrive Gym building) drive forward to lot. Park and unload.
Launch boats: either on the beach or hand dolly to floating dock at Seafarers’ Memorial Park
Safety: 3 chase boats and one boat from Skagit Bay Search & Rescue.
Awards: 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each category.

Start East of Small Boat Harbor breakwater between starting buoys.
Go East approximately 400 yards toward the Marathon pier to turn buoy.
Turn South and proceed to next buoy.
Veer Southwest toward next buoy near Fidalgo Bay Resort.
Turn near Fidalgo Bay Resort, go parallel to shore toward next buoy.
Turn North toward Cap Sante Head.
Jog West just past the Anacortes Marina outer pilings, crossing the Marina channel.
Turn North to pass by viewing party to finish line.

Free trial rows offered
Want to try rowing with a crew in a graceful wooden boat?
OARS is offering free one-hour rows at 9:30 Friday and Saturday mornings and possibly late Tuesday afternoons from June 21, 2024 through early September, 2024.
The get-acquainted rows leaving from Cap Sante Marina are for anyone 12 or older who can physically handle a 13-foot oar. No experience necessary. OARS members will be rowing with you in five-person crews.
Pre-registration is required so crews can be scheduled. Text Membership Chair Kathy Master at (925) 324-3979 to register.
Rowers will meet at the canvas shelter at the end of the gangway on P Dock at the northeast corner of the marina. Wear soft-soled shoes and layers of comfortable, light-weight clothing depending on the weather. OARS will provide life jackets.
Rowing guests must complete a liability waiver. Minors must have attending guardian sign for them.
